CENECO To Install Substation at Banago
A P63 Million substation will be constructed by Central Negros Electric cooperative (CENECO), Inc at Barnagay Banago, Bacolod City. CENECO Board President Roy Cordova revealed this during the midweek transparency meeting. He said, the substation will cater big consumers like Ayala, SM City, and big hotels.
The pre-bid conference for this project will be conducted today, September 22.
Considering that this is a multi -million project, CENECO will follow the Revised Procurement guidelines on simplified bidding procedures of the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Electrification Administration (NEA), specifiying therein to invite observers for bidding of projects costing P2 million or above.
Meantime, CENECO will increase its electricity rate by P0.3683 this September or a cost of P10.0130 per kilowatt hour compared to August billing of P9.6447/KWH only.the increase is resulted by the normalized operation of the grid after the earthquake in Leyte, in July,so the August billing has decreased. * (Edith B.Colmo)
