32nd Negros Trade Fair Kicks Off Tomorrow
The Negros Trade Fair, the country’s longest-running provincial trade fair held annually in Metro Manila since 1985 will kick off tomorrow, Sept. 27, 207 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati.
Mary Ann Colmenares of the Association of Negros Producers said that the “Negros Trade Fair continues to provide small and medium enterprises of Negros a venue to showcase their individual ingenuity and a platform for possible export trade.”
She added that the Negros Trade Fair now on its 32nd year, continues to present the best of Negros products and services from the Association of Negros Producers (ANP).
The trade fair showcases Negros products such as natural and organic food, garments, fashion accessories, furniture, décor, houseware, agriculture and tourism, she further said.
Colmenares said “Social enterprises have the opportunity to present their products at the fair to support their advocacies and to sustain creativity and provide livelihood for the communities they partner with.”
With this year’s theme “Food For Thought”, the fair will feature various booths where guests can savor, experience and taste the authentic flavors of Negros Island. “When you taste the various delicacies and cuisine, you also take a bite into the heritage, history and stories of the Negrosanons,” Colmenares further said.
The 32nd Negros Trade Fair will run from September 27–October 1, 2017 at the Glorietta Activity Center, Makati.
Colmenares said bridging the gap between consumer and producer, this year’s theme highlighted the best Negrense chefs such as JP Anglo, Joel Torre, Manny Torrejon, Tom Bascon, Claudia Schulze, Don Colmenares, Nico Millanes, making use of the best locally sourced ingredients.
The trade fair will also host Silay Night on September 27 and MassKara Night on September 29 – pocket events which aim to promote, inform, and invite guests to visit Negros.
The annual alumni homecoming of the University of St. La Salle, the 11th Tipon Negrosallian, will be on September 30.*
