NPC Negros Looking for Timing to Recruit More Members
The Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) in Negros Occidental is “looking for the opportune time” to recruit more members into the party, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said.
Lacson said that they are aware that there will be a mass oath-taking of 9,000 new members into the ruling PDP-Laban on October 5 in Victorias City.
“Maybe after the mass oath taking we will see if there are still available politicians willing to transfer to NPC,” the Vice Governor pointed out.
Lacson denied that he is the new provincial chairman of the NPC.
Instead, he said that Kabankalan City Mayor Isidro Zayco and Rep. Mercedes Alvarez of the province’s 6th district were named to the party’s Advisory Counsel.
Earlier, Lacson said that he sees no reason to transfer to another party.
NPC and PDP-Laban is in a “working coalition,” he said.*
