Stroke Victim Drowns
A stroke victim was found floating in the river of Sitio Mahuyab-huyab, Barangay San Rafael, Hinoba-an town, Negros Occ. around 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
Police Senior Inspector Leomel Gonzaga, Hinobaan PNP chief identified the victim as Greg Librea, 57, married, of Purok 4, Barangay Po-ok, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was found by Danny Elardes and other farmers in the river.
The victim was temporarily residing in a hut owned by his son Edwin Librea, 34, who reported the incident to police.
Investigation disclosed that before the son left the house at 12nn that day, he already told his father not to swim in the river near their hut because of his condition.
The victim had suffered mild stroke and half his body is paralyzed. He however, insisted to go swimming.
The victim was brought to Eleuterio T. Decena Memorial Hospital located at Barangay Bacuyangan in the town and an hour later at 3:10 p.m. he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.*
