Ex-Village Chief and Bizman Nabbed in Buy Bust

A former village chief (Barangay Captain) of Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City was arrested in a drug bust at 6:00 p.m. Monday in his residence at Purok 3, in the said Barangay.

Police Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez Jr., Himamaylan City PNP chief identified the suspect as Pedro Advincula Rivera, Jr., 72, “Alias Junior”, widower and a businessman.

The poseur-buyer, PO2 Erwin Lumaque bought one elongated sachet of suspected shabu in exchange to P5, 000 marked money from the suspect.

Confiscated from him were another elongated and (one) big sachet of suspected shabu. Operatives also recovered the marked money in five P1, 000 bills and P20.00 cash on his pocket.

The suspect refused to turn over his wallet containing cash in different denominations and resisted the arresting police officers.

The proceeding was witnessed by Barangay Officials and member of Department of Justice.

The suspect suffered hypertension and was immediately brought in an ambulance to Gov. Valeriano Gatuslao District Hospital in Himamaylan City for medical check-up and was later referred to a hospital in Bacolod City guarded by police operatives.*
