Education Conference With Australia NT Government Held

An Education Conference with Northern Territory Government, Australia was held at Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City, Wednesday, attended by guests and Schools Division Superintendents of Negros Occidental.

Guests from the Northern Territory Government were Philippine Consul General to NT, Januario Rivas, Shaun Stenson, Debra Liddiard, Aderyn Chatterton, Marcia Harvey, and Dawnie Tagala.

Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. shared the importance of the partnership between the Northern Territory and Negros Occidental and that education is the greatest social equalizer.

The Governor also hopes that the partnership will promote a deeper understanding of the diverse culture and traditions, and that it will open more education opportunities for Negrenses.

The rationale of the project was presented by Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido, Vocational School Administrator of the Negros Occ. Language and IT Center while Debra Liddiard; Director of Education Services in Northern Territory shared a presentation for the Northern Territory Department of Education; Dawnie Tagala, a Cebuana who teaches Tagalog in Casuarina Senior College presented the school’s profile; NT School of Distance Education Principal Marcia Harvey also presented the school’s profile and Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Head Karen Dinsay presented the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program of the province. *(Capitol News)
