‘Ortiz Never Fulfilled Promises’

Jude Samarita has launched fresh accusations against Salvador Benedicto Mayor Jose Max Ortiz.

Samarita, a former ally of the mayor told Negros Daily Bulletin that Ortiz promised many people in the town when he became mayor in 2013 but “never fulfilled any of them.”

He said on top of this promises is to file cases against the Dela Cruz family, his predecssors.

“But, until now not one case has been filed against former Mayors Nehemias, Cynthia and Marxlen Dela Cruz,” he pointed out.

PAMB Sets Jan 28 Meeting in SalBen

The Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) of the North Negros Natural Park (NNNP) is set to meet on January 28 in Salvador Benedicto (SalBen), according to Mayor Jose Max Ortiz said.

Ortiz said this will be first time that the PAMB will conduct its meeting outside Bacolod City.

“The agenda will be the town’s site development plan of the 200 hectares and the proposal to declare the barangay proper of the municipality as alienable and disposable land,” the Mayor said.

Sipaway Island to Get Enough Power

The National Electrification Administration (NEA) through Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) will start the construction of submarine cable and rehabilitation of power lines in Sipaway Island off San Carlos City following the groundbreaking ceremony at the reclamation area last month.

‘Let Unity Continue to Strengthen 1st District’

during a gathering with allies and supporters at the sidelight of the San Carlos City’s annual Pintaflores Festival and fiesta of Patron Saint San Carlos de Borromeo.

Ledesma, speaking before leaders of the province’s first district, said, “with the two Negros provinces now under one region, the district should remain united.”

“We have proven that our unity have worked for our benefit, “ he said.

Cong. Ledesma is on his last term as congressman.

During the gathering, Ledesma endorsed Escalante City Mayor Melecio Yap as his successor, in 2016.

“We are all in a transition with the newly- created Negros Island Region. “ Ledesma said.
