P3.546-B 2018 Negros Occ. Prov’l Gov’t budget to governor

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Negros Occidental yesterday turned over to Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. the approved P3.546-billion annual budget of the province for 2018.

The governor received the appropriation ordinance after the presentation of Executive-Legislative Agenda during the Provincial Board’s regular session.

The approved budget for 2018 is 12 percent higher compared to this year’s budget of P3.154 billion.

The SP passed the budget on December 6, meeting the target to approve next year’s budget on the first week of December.

Marang Festival 2017 Opens At Capitol

The Marang Festival, now on its second year, officially opened at the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Bacolod City, yesterday, with the theme, “Marang Innovations: Implication to Community Development”. It is participated in by five LGUs namely, Sagay City, Talisay City, La Carlota City, Calatrava, and La Castellana; they are selling freshly-harvested Marang fruits and other Marang-based products and delicacies such as ice cream, candies, polvoron, jam, and caramel tarts, coffee and many more.

Gov Welcomes Rallyists’ Criticisms

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. welcomes the issues raised by the cause oriented organizations that held a rally in front of the capitol building yesterday.

Led by Bayan -Negros spokesperson Christian Tuayon, the rallyists expressed their opposition against the proposed shipyard at Sitio Ubong, Brgy Bacuyangan, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental.
